It will take years
As long as we have companies forcing the use of IE and different ActiveX controls--some of these companies, like AllScripts, even have have multiple browser-based EMR products that will NOT run simultaneously unless separate instances of IE are launched in separate memory spaces-- moving to uniform EMR will be a constant struggle. I don't see it happening for a very long time.
