My privacy
The last thing in the world anyone should want is the government having access to every single facet of your medical history and condition. The Orwellian implications of that boggle the mind, and the putative rationale that it would improve emergency medical care and save lives is so bogus that it could only have come from the government. Not only the government, but virtually all health care providers, insurers, bill collectors and casual hackers would know more about you and your health than even you could remember. The next time you apply for medical coverage, you'll undoubtedly find yourself rejected if you've had anything more significant than the flu in your lifetime. If you don't think this is a frightening concept, I'd like to know what color the sky is on your planet. I, for one, will never, ever permit this information to be shared with anyone I do not personally approve, and only under the most dire circumstances. You can conjure up any hypothetical medical emergency you can imagine, and I still would not participate in such an egregious assault on personal privacy. I'll take my chances with the attending doctor's abilities as opposed to relying on some unreliable computer records accessed by people with no need to know and stored and owned by people with no interest in your privacy or data security. Count me out of this process.
