If it...
spies on you in any way, shape, or form, without notifying you, it is spyware, and personally, though cookies have been around for many years and are seen by many as innocuous, I cannot agree. Cookies that track your browsing habits are, in my opinion, spyware. I don't see the trouble in differentiating between a bad cookie, or a keystroke logger. Sure, one is worse, but both spy on you without you knowing.

Adware is adware, if it delivers ads to you it is adware. Sure, some adware some idiots may wish to have, (just like some people wanted the old Ford Edsel, one persons junk is anothers gold), but there is no accounting for idiots.

Lastly, perhaps it is time we start requiring people to get a LISCENSE to use a computer, certifying they are NOT idiots, and that they have at least the bare minimum knowledge in securely maintaining and operating a PC. In fact, this may be the best way to insure that the Internet isn't taken down by those who would victimize the seemingly huge amounts of idiots operating PC's connected to the net today.

Think of those idiots the next time you recieve a piece of Spam that is probably being generated by a Zombie machine run by an idiot. The idiot probably has no clue their machine is infested. Why should they be allowed to connect a PC to the net if they cannot be bothered to protect themselves to protect us all!
