I think it was completely fair...
...if not a tadbit overboard. Personally, I would have given him 6 months at most w/ 2 years of community service. Why should I pay to feed his mouth for 18 months.

If the judge were to rule according to you, go for it. But to balance it out, I say track down every one of those admins who didn't patch and took the risk, and fire them on the spot! 48000 unemployed, assuming each comp = an individual.
