The Admin gets a raise and maybe a promotion
for doing such a good job chasing the worm down. The network was only down for a week.

Next time I want a raise, I'll just open ports 135,137,138, and 139 on the firewall, redirecting them to the Windows server. Then I'll save the day!!

Sadly, correctly implemented preventive measures and vigilance tend to go completely unnoticed by management.
