I think that article title is misleading.

It sounds like the trojan actually utilizes the Windows Update, when in fact, it spoofs microsoft patching, not "piggybacks" on it. And the tag line, Microsoft's patch process "has spawned"... Same implication twice. It's just another unsafe e-mail attachment.

By that rationale, a 419 letter "Piggybacks" on "Friendly Relationships", and phishers "Piggyback" on Online Banking.

Also, the fact that it was "sent to CNET News.com" makes it even less news. So only one entity got it? or has it been widespread reported?? The author does not say.
