And you are a perfect engineer, I imagine?
Maybe in your private little Idaho, there are no incompetent users and every single faux pas is documented with audio and video proof, but here we have to go take care of it and move on without stopping to act like "CSI" with every incident.

I don't have an automated help center at my location, so I have to keep track on my own. Gee, making notes with pen and paper-what a concept! What would you do without a carefully-crafted database, cross-referenced and annotated?

As I said before, you are in a luxury position and get to go home after a 32-hour work week. Those of us in the real world still have to be at work for another day or so (not counting overtime).

"Limited resources" means different things to different people. In the case of our company, too many "improvements" to the system were unleashed at once on the field IT personnel and the users with no training or documentation available beforehand. Guess who had to become an overnight expert to fix the inevitable glitches? THERE are your "limits...on the infrastructure."

Are you so daft as to expect that any of us would actually post company help desk records and links or the names of our worst offenders? This forum was designed to maintain some measure of privacy, so using real names is not a smart move. It makes one too easy to "Google."
