from an isp tech pov:
there are IT people who make good money setting up and configuring networks and computers and such. working for an isp that pays ok for the area, but not what an IT as mentioned before would make. we are asked to do things from reinstalling an os to setting up and maintaining networks for anyone from individuals to medium sized businesses. i can do this stuff for me, cause i dont want to pay the big bucks, but i dont want to do this for small bucks just so someone can get out of paying the big bucks.
i will do it "on the side" for a nominal fee so as to make what i think i deserve for the time it took me to learn this stuff myself. so yeah, if im setting up someones wireless ap, i will set it up "out of the box". pay me and i will set it up right. wink
