---According to everything I've read he made the mistake
of allowing a thief (his son) to use his computer---

First off, it was his son in law. Second, he does not own a
computer, so he didn't allow anyone to use the non-
existant machine. His son in law did live with him briefly,
added internet service to the home's cable account, and
used his own computer to upload music.

More importantly, how do you know his son in law is a
"thief"? Aren't we presumed innocent in this country until
proven guilty? And what exactly did he steal by uploading
songs?
