The numbers are real...
Given that Kazaa was the most popular P2P around and it's use is roughly half it's pretty obvious that the word is getting out. That is the purpose of the suits, to serve as examples and it seems to be doing exactly that.

Of course the more important thing is what it says to the law makers. The use of DMCA as a tool to catch and sue the thieves (pirates) IS working and deserves further backing by the law makers and the court system.

It's hard to tell Congress it's a "bad thing" when the results are so positive over such a short period of time.
