ever try to get myth TV to install on linux? or how bout upgrading your video card drivers on BSD? please post instructions on this board. if you can't boot up I have instructions for that as well, however what i was typing only concerned spyware, which i have never seen stop a computer from booting.

and i am quite sure the steps to fix a linux computer from a kernel panic are 10 times more complex.

but in answer to your question, if a offending service or driver is preventing windows from loading, you can find out from either the BSOD, enable boot logging, or start in safe mode and look for any suspicious things being loaded. once you have an idea you boot off of the OS install cd choose recovery console and type disable "driver or service here" and restart.

Alternatly you can always try last known good configuration, or if you have system restore enabled you can restore an old registry hive from the sysvol directory (windows xp only). for windows 2000 you can get a registry backup from %systemroot%\repair and restore those files however they will only be as current as your last ERD.
