To the author,

1. Safemode
2. if spyware wont let you run certain apps regedit.exe or adaware.exe or whatever, rename the executable and try again (copy regedit.exe ilovemonkeys.exe) tada!
3. If safemode doesn't work use process viewer from sysinternals, the makers of PStools. find the offending DLL's boot into the recovery console (like dos but less usable, however it can write to NTFS.) and delete the files from there, or if commands are too much use BartPE
4. Also MSAntispy beta will do most of the work for you.
5. Add/Remove programs is still the best place to start (its is not even close to complete but it will help prevent breaking your system)

Other tools worth mentioning
Adaware, Spybot S&D (advanced mode), Winsockfix, PStools, Panda Active Scan, Panda Tru Prevent, BHO Daemon, Hijack this.

P.S. dont forget to delete the temp files
c:\windows\temp\*.*
c:\documents and settings\%username%\localsettings\temp\*.*
c:\documents and settings\%username%\localsettings\temporary internet files\*.*
c:\windows\Downloaded Program Files\*.*

(It's really not that hard)
