3 choices for family
1. Set up Windoze to run with limited user accounts. Doing this has allowed a 9 year old to use a computer unattended - without major problems. Grown ups will be harder to convince, since they WANT to INTALL THINGS! Why, you may ask? They don't know, but they WANT!
2. Sell them on Linux or other Open Source OS. There are many drawbacks to moving newbies to Linux - your Windoze fix time now becomes over and over Linux training time - which is more. Whether it is worth it or not is debatable.
3. BEST OPTION - make them buy a mac. Here's a story for you. My sister has a problem with her mac so she left me a message on my voice mail. When I called her back, she said "Nevermind, Dad helped me through it". My Dad is NOT Mr. Techno! What a GREAT feeling it is to NOT be "needed"!
