Tech industry put on security notice

change is in order: what else should have to happen until people will wake up
and address this issue responibly and effectively?

unfortunately the way things have been in the past three
years, it may take another 9/11 before the federal gov't
enacts & enforces strict IT security laws. before industry is
put on security notice, the gov't should look at itself and
see how it could do much better than keep with the status
quo. also, it is also disrespectful of m$ to push it's wares on
the premises of security - talk is cheap. the victims of the
Pentagon, Afghanistan, Iraq, and trade centers did not die
in vain! let us never forget that, and we must continue to
adopt better policies and better solutions because the
current ones do nothing to protect us as citizens and as
