"I know there are theories about how to bring down the whole internet, but has it been proven? Maybe the US or China or Russia has an idea of how to do it, but I don't think they want to test it out, because like you said, its more useful to them working than not, except in all out War."

There were attacks against root servers last year (or was it the year before), that slowed the net down a tad. In theory, if you DDoS against ALL of the root servers, the net would crawl or stall.

Even in all-out-war, the internet would be usefull to both sides. Email from spies would be too important to give up on with an attack on the net. No, I don't see that there is a threat to the internet itself. It will persevere no matter what.
