The more I read....

I agree with you 100% but the more I read, the more I tend to accept the fact that not everyone is computer savvy enough to know how to protect themselves. I have a hard-nosed opinion like you, but I'm having to accept the fact that thousands of novices are going online everyday, clueless of how to protect themselves. It's simple for us, complicated for the new user. What we need is better education for new users, install in them the importance of using firewalls, anti-spyware programs, anti-trojan programs, and how to maintain their email clients. I shudder when I have people tell me they finally figured out how to remove spyware or trojans from their computer and the removal program found (huge number) of such items on their machine. By then, the damage has been done. Better education is what we really need.
