In my Firefox version 1.0 I see the site as....
http://citibank-software-server.new-netbank.citibank.com .secunia.com/temp/
which is simply accesses by scrolling along the sitename. Granted, that without scrolling I see only:
http://citibank-software-server.new-netbank.citibank.com
but with IE, not only can I not see the start of the website address but I cannot see the directory on that site so whereas if I went to:
https://site03.ftp.download.thevendor.com:3456/product/support/download/getfile.php?productname=thisproduct&item=098473842930-20050124-123005&session=098483482348
with Fx I can see that I am downloading from the site:
https://site03.ftp.download.thevendor.com:3456
and the directory:
/product/support/download/getfile.php?productname=thisproduct&item=098473842930-20050124-123005&session=098483482348
and the file:
update.exe
with IE I can only see the file:
update.exe
and the partial site:
...tp.download.thevendor.com:3456
Now I ask you, which is more insecure based on the dialog box only?
