- Symantec had to find new lines of business given that MS is now offering free tools for anti-virus and spyware. Granted, the MS tools, like the MS firewall, are not a total solution for the vulnerabilitis of the MS OS, but how long can any of the anti-virus companies survive in the Windows market? Veritas has some nice products that would be a good fit for Symantec whose financial foundation may be sinking into the quicksand within the next 24 months.
