Netcraft goes fishing for phishers

If I were to make a phishing site

first I'd offer Accident insurance for 21 cents a day on all thier credit cards. This would be reasonable as I do get telemarketers offering that to me all the time.

Next I'd tell them the program starts automatically and they have 30 days to opt out before charges are applied directly to the credit card. This too is similar to the telemarketers. I never ask for information but I provide them to my fake Bank Site with a link provided. There will be an opt out button the shows thier accounts including credit cards but for some reason no credit cards show. Well they just fill it just like they did when they first added the credit card. Just look like a little glitch. Then BANG! Got their credit card numbers!

Sure only a few people would fall for it as the bank would have to be right though. But hey a sucker is born every minute and and even if the scam lasted 3 days 4320 credit card numbers and I never had to ask for personal information.

This service would be great if it flash in bold letters that the Site actually isn't the bank. I mean sure you can just check the certificate but how many avergae bank user think to do that? People are trained to give out personal information with out even being asked when they feel comfortable. So it really doesn't matter if you ask just give them a reason to give you access.

If you can think like a criminal you usually don't get caught in by the simple tricks they use. But then if you aren't in law enforcement you probably are clueless to what this kind of scum will pull till after they pull it on you.
