- This is perhaps the point

You get a new CD image of linux distros every few
months. By comparison, I have a three year old XP
CD. When I install XP (I have an XP install give
up a few weeks ago, so I reinstalled it), I have
to download all the service pack stuff, run all
the updates etc.
The machine is probably infected by the time I've
installed all that stuff, because even with DSL,
it takes hours and hours.
Not to mention all the other stuff like antivirus
(I use the free AVG).
By comparison, Linux is so so easy.
Can't you see that the XP route is much much
harder to get a current, more secure system with. - Posted by: hipparchus2000 Posted on: 12/26/04 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
