Linux lasting longer against Net attacks

Claimed that Windows XP SP lasted 40 minutes before getting hacked when it was configured as home user station with firewall allowing certian common connections.

Windows 2000 SP 4 lasted 20 minutes.

From personal experience Linux lasts about 2 days before getting hacked when left unprotected on the net. Also the IDS showed that Linux had far few automated attacks hitting though the foot printing was about the same.

We did a test of Window 2000 and Linux.

The interesting results is that both seem to equally vulnerable. But when locked down both can be secure. Windows however is 100 times harder to lock down but still able to be done.
