Blood bank fears laptop heist ID theft

The central blood bank requires SSN: See http://www.centralbloodbank.org/donate_auto.asp

"At the time of the donation, you must bring your prescription and a positive form of identification such as a driver?s license, health insurance card or a social security card."

and

"A special label will be prepared containing your name, social security number, birth date, and hospital. You will be asked to verify information; a similar label will be applied to each of your donations."
