But is this just Google?
Most people can get Usenet as an extension of their email client, and it comes through their IP mail servers. That is grandfathered part of the Internet that Google has no control of.

True, you can't search it except on Google, and the posts go away after a few days, but the information, good or bad, is out there.

If Google were to remove some posts (by which criteria and/or who's say so?) would that not be censorship? And even if they didn't allow those posts to be searched for, the posts would still travel through the Usenet and not be deleted (only group moderators and posters can remove messages). Most groups are not moderated, and if a poster were willing to delete their own message, why would they post it to begin with? How many individuals or companies collect specific Usenet posts and retain them for some purpose? Should their databases be purged also?

I (and the majority) don't agree with some arbitrary method by an individual or a company in deciding what to sensor and what not to sensor. If you can get ALL of Usenet to come to a consensus on what is acceptable and what is not, and make that legal everywhere in the world, then you can put legal screws to a company.

What would be better would be to make sure companies that expect any reliability in Usenet posts to check several dozen posts by the poster and their supposed victim to determine their reliability.

Anyone who bases hiring practices on a few posts is not someone any respectable person would want to work for or do business with!
