Lost in cyberspace

What a shame that those who are creating spyware and those who are fighting it and spam, viruses, etc. seem to have lost sight of the average Joe user who isn't particularly computer savy, just wants to type a few letters and surf the net for a few interesting sites, like myself and a few 100 million other neophytes out there. Computing has become a nightmare for us older generation, pre-IT boomers who didn't even have TV as kids. Why can't this maze of technology be created with the end-suer in mind....if our homes, cars, fridges, TV's etc. were as error prone, disastrous and unreliable as IT...we'd be totally medieval!
