I'm using the free trial myself.
I started after someone on one of these Boards referenced an article about how well anti-spyware programs worked.

The test was downloading a well-known p2p program and getting the more than 100 spyware program passengers off the computer. I'm going to start a new paragraph so you have a moment to think about that.

I was pleased to see free AdAware was about the best, with Giant a good second, as I read it.

Giant hasn't had much to catch, because I don't offer many chances to spyware. The interface and interaction are very like an anti-virus and Zone Alarm. It also, like avast!, does updates in the definitions without user intervention.

My favorite parts are in the Advanced Tools.

But I don't know that any observations about Giant are going to be relevant. Have to see what happens when the Microsoft version comes out. Can say, though, that Microsoft apparently bought a competent company.
