Cure vs Prevention

This happens when you try to cure the cancer (use anti spyware-malware-whatever) instead of making steps to prevent it touching your PC (for example installing Firefox).

Since MSFT has obviously no intention in the second scenario and for whatever reasons they can not provide their own solution (too difficult task, laziness or they are too busy with delaying Longhorn - pick one randomly), they better buy out a company and (my guess) integrate it to the OS to the SP2 Security Center (or roll out in a new SP), make it by default turned-on and making it even a bigger resource hug.

Giant AS may be really good, but no single AS can pick even 80% of all spyware. They just make the average user less aware this way.

I wanna see if they make it run on all Wins or its again gonna be availabe just to XP users (as far as I know Giant AS can run on any Windoze).

PS May be a synchronicity, but just some weeks ago when I was installing this Giant AS trial on a friends PC with Win to clean his PC who had in anger even deleted (not uninstalled) IE, Giant AS was unable to run. Long story short, it insisted on IE (which is strange - why would an anti-spyware software insist on having IE? - Adaware ran just fine). And I was wondering what may be behind this all.
