Time to get a Mac! Time to get Linux! Time to dump Windows!
You do not know how much I agree with you on your post. Unfortunately most homeusers look at Macs and get sticker shock, Linux is not readily available and what is left is Windows. The other problem of clicking the attachment is human curiosity and lack of being properly informed. Let's face it sales people just want to make the sale and the lack of after sales is lacking.

You and I both know that most peecees come with a trial AV. Most customers think this all they need. "Whaddaya mena updates? Whaddaya mean subscription? I paid for the computer didn't I?" I have heard those very quesitons when I have gone to help in my limited capacity. Limited only because I do not want to do more than basic help. I am no tech and do not want to be one.

What I would like to see is a thin client type of peecee offered to the mass public that just wants to surf the web, send e-mails play the occasional online game. Most of all executable attachments are not allowed to be sent or received.
