Its all about control and money
Control of your computer(windows, IE, ect), control of your game console(xbox), control of you TV(media center), control of your car. They get you hooked with there must have products(I don't really think so, but), then kill you with ever increasing and restrictive licensing fees. M$ won't let this continue for much longer as they lose control of your computer. I wouldn't be surpised if they slipped a bit of code into Foghorn that cripples other browsers.
