People need a healthy scepticism
It seems that as soon as some people get on the internet, their brains go on vacation. These are normally intelligent, self-sufficient people that it would be difficult to con some other way. If a person with a Citibank badge went to their door and asked for account information. But, for some reason, just because the request was made electronically, people become stupid, automatically trust the request, and hand over their information. I'm tempted to say that they deserve it, but perhaps that's too harsh. But they certainly should be a hell of a lot more careful. A person walking down the street in some parts of some cities should assume that the person coming toward them is going to try to mug them; why not do the same online?
