Vigilantism is ALWAYS wrong
I'm sorry, I just don't like wasting bandwidth - whatever the "altruistic" reason. This was some hacker's idea that it could be done - and without considering any consequences. The ONLY good thing out of this is the public exposure that SPAM has gotten.

What is worse, having to pick up my snail mail every day, wading though all of the REAL spam (unwanted advertising), and THEN having to OPEN the crappy credit card letters, so I can SCHRED them - lest they be dumpster dived. This is a WHOLE lot of work compared to hitting the X to delete the next spam message . . .
