By maintaining control of wich sites are actualy maintained by spammers the attack is pretty focussed. It's not a blunt tool that also hurts innocent bystanders. I'd like to think of it as precission bombing taken to the extreme. It hurts the spammers where it counts, the wallet, and it may not be needed for to long. As soon as there are no more profits the spamming will stop.
