But different life experiences are no excuse for not using one's brain and thinking before talking. And misunderstanding is no excuse for attacking. Neither is anonymity.

I've got no problem with someone disagreeing with me, and I've never attacked someone for doing so. I have responded to attacks upon myself or others, though. I've also never called anyone an "idiot" or "moron" or "Jesus twit" or "Commie" or anything else, and I never will. I realize that it can be frustrating when someone doesn't understand what I'm saying and seems to be making an effort to continue misunderstanding, but again that's no excuse for sinking to the level of juvenile name-calling and taunting. Nor is it an excuse for attempting to silence opposing views. Just as America must take the lead in restraint and understanding, regardless of the provocations, so must individuals. It all starts with one person.

Different backgrounds or different life experiences don't alter the fact that there are certian basic principles required to get along with other people. Everyone doesn't have to have the same religion (or no religion) to get along; everyone doesn't have to be a Democrat or a Republican to get along; everyone doesn't have to like or hate Microsoft to get along. It only takes consideration for other people and a willingness to have an open mind.

Why can't that consideration begin in these talkbacks?
