Intrusion Prevention
This was a very informative article, but I did not see Intrusion Prevenion mentioned. There are several great solutions available to prevent the intrustions from ever entering the network, a couple being McAfee's host-based solution, Entercept, and their network-based solution, the IntruShield appliance. Both of these have been ranked by Gartner as being among the best, if not the best.
