Wow! That's the same thing my Aunt Edna does! She mounts a file system for her user's home account with "noexec." Then she knows that she's safe from accidentally opening any email attachments.

Then, if she gets a legitimate email attachment that is executable, she first saves the attachment to disk, uses the su command to attain admin privileges, then uses chmod to set the executable attribute on the file.

The only thing she wishes she had is a good virus scanner for Linux.

She's a real *nix whiz for being 60, let me tell ya!
