I think what you are saying is that the email client would allow the user to save the attachment to disk, but would not set the executable bit.

So if I wanted to execute an attachment, I would have to

(a) save the file to disk
(b) set the executable bit on with attrib +x file.exe (or something like that)
(c) execute the file

BFD! In my opinion, this is just one more little step than doing a save to disk.

This isn't the issue anyway, it's an issue of STUPID USERS executing attachments!
