- Another confused MS shill
-
>>>.. with only about 1 hour a month spent on approving patches and installing. How much time do you spend recompiling your code or patching? A lot more, I suspect. <<<
Not nearly as much as you spend. You shills really need to explain to chairman billy that compiling is something that developers do but rarely anyone else. It is something users will probably never do. Most of the Linux systems have automatic updating but, unlike MS, have the option to specify in advance what they want updated. Only in MS world is it an all or nothing proposition. Although there is no need for a browser or media player on a server you still have to patch it, not to mention a half-dozen reboots. Tell me, is that the reason MS compares their stuff with Red Hat 6? Because that was about the last time anybody had to compile anything? Or is it because MS thinks their offerings are equivalent to Red Hat 6? On the other hand, Linux users have the option to install only what they need. What id10t thought it was a good idea to run a web browser or a media player on a server? Oh, MS of course. Linux users also have the option of custom compiling their kernel if they wish to obtain maximum performance for a specific application. Tell me, how many different ways can you recompile your MS kernel? The answer is, of course, you can't with MS. Its just as well. Having to compile it with all the garbage MS bolted onto their OS would probably take two weeks anyway.
>>>Especially since Linux is the most exploited OS on the Internet.<<<
Another foolish MS shill spreading the gospel of her false MS god. The fact you don't know there is a difference between an OS and an application does not excuse your ignorance. The concept you MS folks don't understand yet is if I don't install an application the vulnerabilities for that application are irrelevant. I know the strain is almost too much to bear. MS does not give you that choice. That is why 11 year old script kiddies can crash 50,000 MS servers in 10 minutes (MS SQL worm). They know that all MS boxes are virtually identical so are vulnerable to everything. When you don't know there is a difference between the OS and applications the concept can seem foreign. The fact you MS shills have to count every vulnerability for thousands of packages that run on Linux to get a number that is greater than the MS vulnerabilities alone should clue you in on something. How about a fair comparison, you know, just count the Linux vulnerabilities. Of course, history tells us MS does not want a fair comparison. MS "me too" software rarely comes out favorably when compared on merit. I'm sure that, being an MS shill, you are already painfully aware of that.
Last time I checked there were about 2 or 3 alerts for Linux in the last year. How many for MS last week? How many since monday?
You NBM types, you and axey, really don't know that an application isn't the same as the OS. I am also probably correct in saying you have not noticed that MS advisories usually have anywhere from 5 to 20 separate vulnerabilities listed in the same warning. MS does that to fool the dumber ones. Guess it must work.
Just wondering. Why is it that, although about 70% of the web servers are Apache while MS has about 20%, 90% of the successful cracks are on MS boxes? I am also curious why MS hides their servers behind Linux servers?
http://www.netcraft.com/?host=.microsoft.com. Check it out. Every MS server listed shows Linux as the OS. The ultimate in hyprocisy. Attempt to defame your competition by making ludicrous claims about their security while using them to protect you own feeble servers. Microsoft and security in the same sentence is the joke.
One more thing. I did not mention any OS. You, being an MS shill, just assumed it was Linux. Its the MS shill mindset. Anyone that reminds the world of MS swiss cheese (un)trustworthy computing security must use Linux. You have no idea what I'm running and, unlike your MS box, you could never discover what it is.
(BTW, MS trolls, when caught, are rarely good for anything. Most being 14 day 'wonders' fresh from a boot camp with many answers to questions memorized but absolutely no skill to market.)
