Man, another opportunity missed...
750,000 to find out about what? Monoculture? Ah, let me
see, slammer and co. knocked out loads of computers
because of an illegally gained monopoly. Break that up by
putting in multicultural systems and you have begun to win
the battle.

No more single vendor software, IS, etc. No more total
reliance on Microsoft. The money saved by mixing Apple,
Linux, Sun and MS from repairing the damage done by
exploits, virii, etc. might just be worth the extra initial
outlay. Plus, we would have real onsight competition
everyday and see who really is the best.

CIO's this mess is all up to you, not the vendors. Get smart
and spend your money in more than one place and the
problem starts to go away. Continue to buy one vendor in
the hope your personal stock portfolio will pick up and you
get what you deserve.
