'The research could be good for Microsoft' - Ha ha ha
"The research could be good for Microsoft. In the end, the
techniques developed by the academic researchers could
help the software giant and other organizations break up
their monocultures without losing market share."

MS is know for their support for a wide variety of processor,
architectures, and daemon alternatives. This research is
really playing into MS hands;-)

Where's John Carrol to rebutt the now overwhelming
'monocultural is bad for security' position? Another 3 part
series recommended.
