Don't forget the corn chips/dip and Twinkies!!!
Still in Afghanistan I get the impression that once the Russians
got their blank handed to them we pretty much left the area
entirely. So in my previous scenerio we would have kept contact
and tried tot support our guys or in this case the Northerm
Allance that stubbornly held out against the Taliban and the
terrorists. I often wonder what Afghanistan might have turned
out to be if we had kept supporting those WILLING to fight..but
not getting dirrectly involved with our troops that is.

As for Vietnam...well it does not seem to be all that bad a
situation for the Vietnamese right now. Besides we were
supporting a corrupt EVIL government there and we SHOULD
have known better that doing that in the first place. Now if
there were Vietnamese willing to fight and to die for freedom
then we should have supported them and continued to do so
even "IF" they could do little more than fight a protracted
guerilla war.

However that is the think about freedom....Freedom meansthat
"IF" you are willing to go all the way, and those who oppose you
don't have the nads to stop you well then you win. And
sometimes that means the people you and I don't particularly
like come to power. And to my way of thinking that just means
the people were not ready for freedom. For if a people are
reading and willing there is NOTHING a strong man nor a strong
military can do to stop them from getting what they want. A
people can survie and thrive without a strong man, without a
king, without a corrupt and evil government and or military. But
those strong men and others can NOT survive without the
people.
