Check and see which VM Firefox is using by going here:
http://javatester.org/version.html
Then see if it is supported by the application you're trying to
run. If it's not, see if you can change which VM Firefox is using.

getting when browsing zdnet.com a reocurring error "activeX
error: cannot create control"

What in the world ever made you think you could use ActiveX
controls in anything other than IE?
