Not All Companies Take Agressive Action
I recently received a phishing spam claiming to come from Sun Trust Bank. It was clearly a phishing attempt; I'm not a Sun Trust customer. I notified Sun Trust via their website. What I got in reply was a poorly crafted, canned reply about on-line saftey. Here's one line, copied directly from their response:

"We??Tre aware of these fraudulent online activities and have an aggressive process in place to address unauthorized emails and Web sites."

As you can see, they're not even making an effort to see what their reply looks like to the "customer."

More importantly, it's now 6 days since I notified them of the site and the site is still up!

Here's the site that it takes you to:

http://82.90.165.65/s/login.html

And here's what many people will see in their browser's address bar if it's not been patched recently: https://internetbanking.suntrust.com

Businesses targeted by these attacks MUST take truly agressive action to protect themselves and their customers.
