Hacker is a cracker in training
Intruding is trespass - criminal intent is never part of the mens rhea of the charge. That is why trespass is a lesser included part of felony charges such as burglary.

A hacker is by definition intruding into systems the hacker does not have permission to get into. Intent does not matter - it's trespass.

My little list was a quick way to show how intent can always be used to show the 'goodness' of an action.

BTW - at 2 AM at MY house, and I don't care if it's a nice neighborhood or not - and some idiot is ringing the bell to tell me my door is unlocked - and IF I decided to open the door to 'greet them' - they may well have a very large very black hole they would be talking into while I was speed dialing the locals. Cause from my point of view at that moment - the persons intent is to probably do me or my family harm. Let the 'oh so good intentioned' hacker explain to the officers and perhaps later a judge why they were at my doorstep at 2 AM.
