Lot of great points there
I might address a couple of them. First, one thing I noticed was your mention of "strings attached" and I can assure you there are none. By that I mean all that is required is to believe, that's it. Believe that God is offering this wonderful gift. ALL you do is just believe it. Simply reach out and accept the gift. Your belief is not anything you can prove to people. It is done in your heart, privately if you wish, it's the same at home alone as it is in front of a crowd (that was scary for me)

You don't have to change your life, or quit drinking, or smoking or whatever it is that we do that is wrong. You don't have to "get your life in order". Your not going to be bound or shunned or obligated to performing in any certain way. It's in your heart, Jesus said "knock and I will open the door." If you simply ask Jesus to take it from here on out and put all of your burdens on him, he has promised us salvation.

If you truly are sincere and ask, he will answer. And it's that "leap of faith" that will lead you to his word, which may be able to address your concerns better than I can, and offer great advice for daily living.

BTW I don't consider Catholicism to be the same as Christianity. And you're right, that whole "roman catholic" thing is to me abhorant and I'll say no more about that.

Spoon as long as you are NOT bringing your word to me and more importantly others by the point of a gun..then I am OK with you.

I am an avid gun collector, so be careful wink

As long as their is not eagernes in your
heat to be proven right, and to look upon the suffering with a certain glee..then you are OK by me.

In that case I can assure you that I'm OK. As a matter of fact....it seems that I look upon glee with a certain suffering (that was an attempt to humerize my slightly narcisistic outlook on life)

If I can be so easily swayed from what I know in my heart to be basic priciples of good. Like one does not stick a sword in a helpless woman, child, or old person for ANY reason.

One of the great stories in the bible is about Paul(name?), and his profession in life which was crucifying christians for the romans, and he was VERY good at it. Now Jesus appeared to him and asked him "why do you persecute me?". I don't remember his answer but Jesus said of him "upon this rock I will build my church". Paul became a believer and one of the twelve apostles. Paul is a major figure in the bible, and who would've thought that God would choose a scumbag like Paul to glorify himself.

Did you see that show on the History Channel about the history of the muslims that was on recently? It was pretty good, with timelines and names and lots of specific info. One thing was for sure, those guys back then didn't have a lot of tolerance each other did they? It seems that almost ALL cultures have a history of evil behaviour, but not too many of us are able to learn from that history. And that my friend is called human nature, we tend to F* up, an awful lot.

Well at least I know I sure do, and quite frankly I personally don't have a chance without Jesus.
