If we used the OS of your choice it would still only be a matter of time until some sort of antivirus and antispyware was needed. You keep harping about how expensive it is to protect a Windows machine. I just pointed out how little it really costs to provide adequate desktop protection. The argument is academic at the moment, but when Linux (assuming it was Linux you were referring to) has ~30% of he desktops then we'll see what the costs are to protect that platform.
