Call me skepticle
This may sound good on paper but does anyone really think it's going to work? Just what are you going to do when you keep receiving true unsolicited junk email that's been relayed through a false address? Forward it to the FTC 20 or 30 times a day, like they can keep up with the billions of reports and file charges? Face it, nothing's gonna stop spam, not ever.

And 10 to 1 says that if the FTC has to hire thousands of people to process the complaints, you can bet it'll be outsourced to India.

And let's not overlook the fact that it's dangerous to open junk email, rather than just delete it. Should we run the risk of opening a spam email just to look for that opt out link (that never works anyway)? This law doesn't say anything about it being illegal for the email to automatically download spyware or a trojan when the email is opened, as long as it has that required opt out link. Personally, I never risk opening junk email, I just block the address and delete it.
