Only a moron would put in his password when something he doesn't know what it is installs itself. And that's the only way this can spread. You have to physically install it and give it admin credentials.

Or you have to have physical access to the machine, which any machine can be compromised with physical access.

It's not like a Windows worm/virus where it can replicate without you knowing.

It's really a non-issue unless you routinely install stuff you don't know about....

But it will be interesting to watch and see if it starts spreading by itself.

Still no need for AV software on the Mac if you are careful. That probably scares the AV vendors the most - no need for them if people don't feel the need for them like they do on Windows. But it makes for great conspiracy theories....
