Sorry, not saying that
No, I'm not saying that at all. I'm saying that it is not worthwhile for a beta version to take precedence over the production version. If you have downloaded and used Firefox, you should know it is a beta, and is not the 'official release' version.

Fixing what is (as the story said) a relatively minor flaw in the beta, when the full version which DOES fix the flaw is coming out in two weeks, is not, and should not be a priority.

If I was using a BETA version of IE, and there was a minor problem which is fixed in the full release due out in two weeks, I would NOT expect Microsoft to make the beta fix a priority. If they are able to manage it, fine. If not, fine. That is all part of the risk YOU assume when YOU decide you will use a program that is STILL BEING TESTED.

Obviously, security is important, that's a no brainer. However, this is a completely different situation from a company publishing a program which is an official full release.

You, on the other hand, are saying that because you downloaded a test program, and there's a problem with that test program, the company should put its official release on HOLD to make sure your test version is right. I find that very counterintuitive, and downright ridiculous if you look at it from a business aspect.

I think it's GREAT that the Firefox coders are generally so responsive to users and bugs. I find it admirable, and that's also one of the additional reasons I do like Firefox. At the same time, I think that IN THIS PARTICULAR SITUATION, it is perfectly reasonable to expect them to not worry as much about a beta version when they are currently, after a few years of work, releasing the first OFFICIAL, FULL product. THAT is what they should be judged on, not the fact that they put a production version at a higher priority than a beta.
