I'm amazed with what simmering rage people on these boards talk of the virus dudes. They make it seem as though they walked in on one of these guys porking their wife! I personally don't think virus writing in general should even be a crime. If you don't take proper precautions when connecting to the Net (a public network) then you deserve what happens. I NEVER get hit with any viruses. Why? Because I take responsibity for myself. It's like a person driving a motorcycle without a helmet who gets thrown off his bike, slams his head on a telephone pole, and then complains that it should be a crime for not putting any rubber padding on the poles to protect bikers. If you take a young child out in public and don't watch him/her and a pedophile scoops him/her up and runs off, can we complain to the cops that they weren't watching our kids enough? Retarded. The only time I think it should be considered a crime is if a person writes a virus with the specific intention of causing financial harm to a corporation, so in this case I would say that this is a crime. But as for viruses in general, they really are small potatoes. It's just f*cking software! Re-install the OS and be on your way! People that equate cybercrime with real crime are spending too much time in the house and need to get out there more to see the real crimes they are comparing this to..
