I don't think the legislatures will view it that way. In their eyes, this is copyright protection which is such a huge buzz word right now and probably helps line their pockets to boot.
Personally, I don't have a problem with software calling home to verify a valid serial number or something...its when it phones home with my name, e-mail address, home address, home phone, etc. Then...even though they say they don't sell your information, you suddenly start getting SPAM mail...a trickle at first...then it builds and builds...yet their company is the only place you ever gave your e-mail address to...hmmm????
Anyway, when it comes to the government...as long as a copy cries "copyright protection" we are screwed, even if that means they come into your home, shoot your dog, steal your truck, and take your wife with them...its okay...they are protecting their intellectual property.... - Posted by: Stellardyne Posted on: 10/16/04 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
