There can be JUST as much crappy programming in applications as are in the OS (M$ blurs that distinction). If app writers don't write to the standard interfaces, then crap happens with upgrades. Happens on ALL OS' - I've seen it thousands of times. I guess shades of grey are NOT being considered here . . .
